How do you measure the soul of a city? In Denver, for the better part of five decades it s been by the Broncos. From an ugly and inauspicious beginning to the first nationally televised Monday-night game in 1973, through postseason games that included back-to-back World Championships and five other Super Bowl appearances, the Broncos have provided the Mile-High City s primary identity on a national level. The nation s first truly regional sports franchise, the Broncos were the first major league team to call Denver home, beginning play as a charter member of the American Football League, with its first season in 1960. In this newly revised edition of "Game of My Life Denver Broncos," fans past and present will relive the greatest moments of Mile-High football through the eyes of the players themselves. Floyd Little shares the pride and joy of scoring a touchdown in his last game as a Bronco and John Elway describes the glory of leading the Broncos to their first Super Bowl victory in 1998. From those infamous striped socks to back-to-back Super Bowl Championships, "Game of My Life Denver Broncos" has it alla must-have for any Broncos fan. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 1596700912. The Denver Broncos did not have their first winning season until 1973, but no team in pro football has won more games in the 30 plus seasons since that time. This book covers the Broncos from infancy through world championships, all seen through the eyes of the players who delivered the titles, had great individual success, or just tried to keep their heads above water in a sea of mediocrity. Included are stories by players from every Broncos era, including John Elway, Terrell Davis, Floyd Little, Shannon Sharpe, Karl Mecklenburg, Randy Gradishar, and Ed McCaffrey. Frank Tripucka, Gene Mingo, and Goose Gonsoulin recall early years, and players like Charley Johnson and Jack Dolbin also weave some of the tapestry that, in its entirety, is Bronco's football. This copy is in fine condition with an unblemished hardcover having sharp edges and corners. The binding is tight and the pages are clean, crisp, unmarked and uncreased. The dust jacket exhibits a near fine appearance with only the slightest bit of shelf or edge wear and with the price inked out on the rear jacket cover above the bar code. This is a remarkable book and is in near fine condition.; 1.1 x 9 x 6 Inches; 230 pages.
