Insightful, well paced read

Gately's grasp of one of the many places where history and the human appetite intersect is well captured in 'Drink'. The narrative style still allows for plenty of room for overview and interesting tidbits, but remains on the move through the relevant history and culture through its entire length. A worthwhile read, for sure.
