This mix of gothic horror, suspense, and romance is not comic as most other Heyer books are, but it has her usual flair for likable characters and gripping story. I like this but the horror-story element would allow me to recommend it only to those who like the genre.

Georgette Heyer is a fascinating storyteller and she is always historically correct. Her Regency stories are spellbinding
