Fair. First edition. Original green and stamped gilt foliate cloth. Hardcover, fair, no dustjacket. Corners bumped with cardboard exposed there and at spots along edges of boards, spine and margins of boards faded, approximately 1/4 inch fraying at head and foot of spine, 1 inch tear on front joint. Internally, free endpapers torn out, front and rear hinges cracked, additional hinge cracks between a few of the gatherings, otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked, decent reading copy. Modern first; 340 pages.
