Don't Nuke My Relatives!

by piafinn on Jun 29, 2008

This book was a bit of a departure from Brown's other three books; Treason, Hostage, and Defiance, in that it was 5/6 military thriller, 1/6 JAG. I was, of course, pleasantly surprised that the military part was about submarines, and it was well done. They also go through the Bosporus, submerged. Zach Brewer, the JAG officer from the other books, made an appearance, too, although there's no real update on his romance with Diane. Aren't they engaged by now? Weapons-grade plutonium is stolen by the Chechyans and a nuclear device is built on board a freighter that is sailed into the Gulf of Finland in order to nuke St. Petersburg. Hey, don't they know my relatives are in nearby Helsinki? It's about political brinkmanship and also has you concerned about the innocent bystanders in the story.
