Published in conjunction with a 1974 Arts Council of Great Britain exhibition, this is the austerely designed catalogue that accompanied the first British retrospective of photographic work of architectural typologies by the pioneering German husband and wife collaborators Bernd and Hilla Becher. A most handsome copy (entry No. 32 in the "ephemera et catalogues" bibliography of Antoine de Beaupre and Jean-Christophe Blaser's "Bernd und Hilla Becher: Printed Matter 1964/2013") showing just a bit of age-toning to the white covers. From the publisher: "Bernd and Hilla Becher's work over the past thirty years can be seen as a kind of 'industrial archeology. ' Out of print for some time, the new edition of Typologien combines the best examples of their work categorizing different types of buildings into a kind of Becher textbook."
