Fine. Norwalk, CT: Easton Press, 2001. Collector's edition. Leather bound. 528 pp. Fine. Signed by author, Jim Bouton, on prelim. Bound in full, gilt stamped, navy blue leather; all edges gilt with silk moire endpapers. Certificate of Authenticity and note slip laid in.
Fine. No Jacket as Issued. A handsome dark blue leather Collector's Edition signed by the author. After a career in baseball as a pitcher, Bouton wrote "Ball Four" in 1970, a book in which he wrote frankly about the drugs alcohol, groupies, and the dark side of baseball. Needless to say, the Commissioner of Baseball did not appreciate the book but the fans loved it. This is a Collector's Edition of "Ball Four" but with a new epilogue and signed by Jim Bouton. The book is in fine unread condition with only a light mark on the top edge not affecting the gilt; otherwise very fine. With gold gilt cover designs and page edges, moire silk endpapers and bound-in silk bookmark. Includes a Publisher's Note and Certificate of Authenticity from Easton Press.
