A great book that was passed around in my school in about grade five. It's a rite of passage. It's all about discovering the world around you, trying to understand religion and making sense of the changes in your body.
It is THE book to read about menstruation. It's funny and insightful. When I read it as a young girl, I was sure it had been written by someone my age, because it was so in tune with young girls and their conflicting emotions.
Wow. I just read this book with my fifth grade daughter. I remember loving this book when I was in fifth grade. While some of the content of the book is 'dated' the issues still ring true for girls today. I'm glad I had the chance to read and re-read this book at different stages in life.
