A Sharp 20th Century Comedy of Manners

This is a witty story of venomous sibling rivalry in the mannered world of England Between the Wars, told with such style and verve that it could be an Ealing comedy. A harmless childhood hobby like philately becomes the focus of special tension when an estranged brother and sister discover their "shared" stamp collection happens to contain the rarest stamp in the world. Robert Graves is a rich source of observation and insight and a first rate storyteller, and this book is like a small forgotten gem in his collection.
